The <h1>, <h2>, <h3>, <h4>, <h5>, and <h6> tags are HTML heading tags used to define headings in order of importance:

  1. <h1>: The highest level, used for main titles or primary headings. There should usually be only one <h1> per page for SEO and accessibility.
  2. <h2>: Typically used for subheadings or sections under the main heading.
  3. <h3>: Used for subheadings within an <h2> section.
  4. <h4>: Further subdivisions, typically within <h3> sections.
  5. <h5> and <h6>: Used for smaller headings within deeply nested sections.
